Revolution Cycle Group Rides
We wanted to rub shoulders with our customers more often, and what better way to connect than on our bikes in the river valley! The ride leaves from the back of the shop at about 6:30pm on Wednesdays, so if you'd like to come with us drop in about 6:15pm with your gear. Rides are about 1.5 to 3 hours, but sometimes goes for a touch longer if everyone is having fun and wants to keep riding. Average is about 2 to 2.5 hours long of riding fun times!
We recommend that you bring along some things to make your ride enjoyable:
- Bring some water. Staying hydrated is fairly important when cycling.
- Bring a source of energy product (Hammer gels, bars, chews, HEED, Perpetuem etc) so if you need that energy boost you have something.
- Check your tire pressure. Low tires leads to getting flats.
- Having a spare tube with you is a great idea as well incase you get a flat tire.
- We ask that all riders wear a helmet as we'd like everyone to be safe.
- Bring appropriate weather gear. Please make sure that you have riding gear for the weather with you. Alberta weather always keeps things interesting.
- If there's a chance of rain, bring some rain gear.
- Spring and Fall riding have some cooler riding gear with you to stay warm. Temperatures can drop in the river valley a fair bit when the sun goes down and in the evenings.
- Fall riding it can get dark quickly, so if you have lights bring them.
We usually "record" our group rides with an iPhone app called "Motion-X GPS" and post the google map link on our "Group Rides" section of the site so you can get an idea of where and how far we ride. It's fairly accurate, but sometimes phone signal in the river valley is lost so the "trail" may look a bit odd in spots but provides a fairly accurate "route" of where we went.
If you'd like to double check if the group ride is still going on, please feel free to call the shop Wednesday afternoon to confirm. Most of all... have fun. Our group rides are a fun social ride, we hope everyone that comes along has a good time and makes some new friends and learns some new trails along the way.

This ride the weather held out and turned out to be a nice evening for a ride! This ride was out to the Devon highway. The GPS is for the short loop some of the group took and was 55km (GPS signal cut out on a few sections), the longer loop some of the group took was 75km.
